A Little History . . . Cut Steel

A Little History . . . Cut Steel

Created during the 18th century in France to imitate diamonds, cut steel was also popular in the late 19th century and adorned buckles, buttons and jewelry.  Upper class women were forced to relinquish their diamonds to help support the war and often replaced their precious jewelry with cut steel equivalents.

The color of cut steel is a beautiful gun metal grey.  The facets in the metal create an eye-catching sparkle.
