This necklace features an antique locket with paste stones and center royal blue sapphire on a handwoven chain made from oxidized silver-filled and rose gold-filled jump rings. The locket has an etched pinstripe design in the background, a warm rosy gold patina and the engraved initials RK inscribed on the reverse side.
The locket's interior has its frame and picture protector intact. It opens from the side and snaps easily and securely shut.
Lockets gained popularity during the Victorian era after Queen Victoria wore a mourning locket with a photo inside of her beloved husband Albert every day, setting a fashion trend. Prior to his passing, her husband had gifted her with a charm bracelet with eight lockets, each containing a lock of hair from each of their children.
