A vintage French medal drops from a necklace made from two vintage watch chains and sterling silver handmade chain. The medallion design features a six-pointed star inside of a holly wreath, with the center medallion showing Marianne in profile. Marianne has been the national personification of the French Republic since the French Revolution; before this time, Marianne was known as the Goddess of Liberty.
The "Medaille D'Honneur Des Assurances Sociales" was issued in France between 1923 and 1936.
